Should You Get a PhD
- jleyank 5y agoYeah, if it’s in a field you are interested in and it improves your career/hiring potential. For example, it’s hard to be a prof without one. If you want to lead a project in biotech/pharma, better get one. It might also be required for professional credentials, but that probably falls under career potential. Might be similar issues in physics-related areas but I have no experience in that (nor biology or the med-related ologies). Probably all of them have a training level (or union card) issue with advanced degrees. Don’t waste your time getting one on spec. I always thought the tech field looks down on them?
