App ecosystem (great apps, often good UX/usability and lots of small "details"), interoperability between devices and to show their social status. Why do some people buy an expensive Mercedes if basically any car can drive you from A to B? I am a Linux user and I love FOSS, GNU CLI tools, etc. But it takes more time, crashes and nerves to edit a video using Kdenlive than it would by using iMovie. FOSS software is awesome but it is hard for their authors to compete with commercial SW made by highly-paid full-time professionals. And commercial software on Linux is often non-existent or problematic (mainly due to ensuring support for so many distributions).
