- thinkingemote 5y agoWhere do you think morality comes from? The ancient Greeks and Romans didn't have it.
- tssva 5y agoThey had more than the Catholic Church does.
- GuB-42 5y agoAs an atheist, I find the current position of the Catholic Church perfectly respectable in general, and particularly so for that note. It basically says that some of these vaccines may have been made using "evil" techniques, but if you get vaccinated in order to protect your own health or for the greater good, then you do not support evil. And while it says that getting vaccinated or not is a personal choice, if you chose not to, you have to find other means to avoid being a danger to others. Catholicism has done terrible things, like most religions. But it has done a lot of good too, and in general, what the church teaches makes a pretty good code of conduct. Of course, there are many points that I disagree with, abortion is one of them. And I don't expect the church to support abortion anytime soon, or homosexuality, it is still Catholicism. But the church tends to do a rather good job telling people to actually do good when it matters rather than to follow misguided principles.
