He mentioned yesterday in his 20-year retrospective post (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29892756 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29892756) that Once in a while I break my current-events wall and talk politics. Every time I know that I'm going to regret it, and every time that prediction comes true, but sometimes I just can't help it. That's going to happen again very soon, and I'm going to regret it again.   the author of the "in the pipeline" blog: https://www.science.org/blogs/pipeline https://www.science.org/blogs/pipeline Outside his industry, he's historically best known for his "things i will no longer work with" series profiling wildly horrible reagents: cf https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/sand-won-t-save-you-time https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/sand-won-t-save-yo.... He's also written on drug development, vaccine development, etc., extensively for the last two years. One of the saner voices to do so.

    It may be nitpicky, but most of that series is simply "Things I Won't Work With". There used to be an extensive and very helpful organization into categories until someone at Science smashed it in introducing a new "blogging platform" at some point last year. https://web.archive.org/web/20200817133536/https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2008/02/26/sand_wont_save_you_this_time https://web.archive.org/web/20200817133536/https://blogs.sci...       i hate the new blog site. It’s a pain in the ass to search, so i have to go digging through my pinboard. Thank god the RSS feed got unfucked.
