GameStop to Launch New Gaming Platform with Branded Android Tablet
- Hyena 15y agoThis could be a very good or very bad idea; a lot will depend on the execution, even more will depend on whether it gains enough acceptance. Overall, I think it should be handled more like a console and less like a tablet; its tablety goodness should be the extra but its core should be a carefully customized Android aimed at games, a solid SDK and some solid titles on release.
- wccrawford 15y agoWell they did rip those OnLive coupons out of those boxes because they were creating a competitor to it... So this would kind of make sense. I wonder if creating a whole new tablet is really the way to go, though. Seems it might be easier to release a controller and app for existing tablets, and a set top box, and be done with it.
