I don't know how representative this clip is. And I do not have a high opinion of Sen. Paul whatsoever. But in my opinion Sen. Paul is handing out verifiable¹ assertions and Fauci is not addressing those in any meaningful way. He's just responding with a general defense like "you are always doing this", "you're giving no evidence", "all you do is attack me personally" etc. Also from observing Fauci's attitude I have to say I also get the impression that he considers himself as exceptionally representing science. Plus, many inconsistencies regarding financing of the Wuhan lab and whether or not lab origin is realistic or just a "conspiracy theory". 1: verifiable in the sense that Fauci could say "yes your quote is true but ..." or "no I never wrote this".
