Electrical resistive heating clothes dryers are an enormous energy hog.
- endisneigh 5y agoI'm familiar - however it's slow. What do you do if you need your clean clothes to be dried quickly?
- ericd 5y agoBuy merino wool clothing, it dries very quickly :-)
- fomine3 5y agoIt's time to heat pump
- ericd 5y agoYeah, though the heat pump dryers I've seen don't sound like they perform very well for some reason. I need to look into it more. Heat pump water heaters, though, are supposedly much better than resistive.
- yourusername 5y agoNot all Europeans use a drying rack indoors. In the Netherlands only the poor do this. It takes a long time and doesn't even save any energy as the water from your clothes makes your entire house humid and feel cold in the winter.
- ericd 5y agoShrug we've been mostly using them, they seem to work well enough.
