Thanks to all the comments here, I just applied. I'm building a registry[0] and registrar[1] for my portfolio of Handshake[2] names. I have no idea if it'll be interesting to them but it doesn't hurt to try. Regardless of the outcome, I intend to release by end of Q1 of this year. After the codebases are stable I'm gonna open-source everything. The $500k will just enable me to work on it full-time, eliminate minor debt, and allow me to release faster.
