European parliament broke EU rules on data transfers and cookie consents
- sofixa 5y agoThat's pretty good news ( that it was discovered and fixed). > The European Data Protection Supervisor’s (EDPS) intervention relates to a COVID-19 test booking website which the European Parliament launched in September 2020 — using a third party provider, called Ecolog That's just sad. Such third party providers should just be blocked from future contracts
- Lio 5y agoI’m really glad to see this covered and dealt with. There’s too much tracking by default where it really isn’t needed. The one that amuses me most is the UK’s Samaritans[1] web site. It’s a suicide prevention charity, something that should be deeply private …and yet it includes Google Doubleclick and other tracking cookies with no opt-out. Somebody must have made the decision to do that and I’d love to hear the reason why. 1. https://www.samaritans.org/privacy-statement/ https://www.samaritans.org/privacy-statement/
