I get the feeling! I wish I could guess your age - I remember feeling the same years ago when everything, it seemed, started moving to web. Totally ignored the frontend movement because of it. I think it’s the coming of age - next generation is taking the helm. As you get older you starting thinking the best is in the past - each generation does it with them “good old days” feelings.
