- kevinburke 5y agoPer censusreporter.org, Davis had about 29,500 homes in 2019: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/40000US22420-davis-ca-urbanized-area/ https://censusreporter.org/profiles/40000US22420-davis-ca-ur... Per California HCD, Davis issued permits for about 1350 homes between 2013 and 2020, or roughly, Davis grew by about 4.5% in that time frame. California grew its population by about 6% between 2010 and 2020 and the total housing stock by about 5.2% which puts Davis at just about average in terms of construction, far from "tons." https://www.census.gov/library/stories/state-by-state/california-population-change-between-census-decade.html https://www.census.gov/library/stories/state-by-state/califo...
- brucelidl 5y agoTo be fair, UCD has built a ton of new student housing in that time frame, including the entire West Village complex. That may be what they are thinking of, even though I don't think that would be included in the town of Davis numbers.
- supperburg 5y agoI lived in Davis. Have you ever even been to Davis? They are building gigantic monoliths of apartment buildings everywhere you look. Maybe check your sources again.
- TulliusCicero 5y agoThis is hilarious to me. "Oh, the data says I'm wrong? Well, check your data again I guess. What, provide my own data? As if!"
- supperburg 5y agoYour data probably excludes student housing. You made a mistake
