The NFT market is made up mostly of people that got accidentally rich by, by chance, "investing in" (playing with) a new thing called cryptocurrency before it blew up. They likely didn't gain any marketable skills doing this. They didn't really learn anything, per se. But, by god, they like the money; how can they get more? Oh, look, another upcoming crypto-thingy. Let's chuck some of my luck-money at it to see if it makes more! Annoyingly, some of them will be right.
