It's a reasonable precaution take, at least until we know precisely how the virus could get to the isolated Belgian Antarctic base, where everyone was isolated for weeks and tested and retested prior to being sent there.
- jaywalk 5y agoIt was a reasonable precaution to take in March of 2020. But enough studies have been done by now to show that it's no longer a reasonable precaution in general. We may never know how it got to that base, and even if we find out that it was via surface contamination, that doesn't invalidate everything else we know now.
