I have just moved to another country yesterday and I was in a similar position for the past couple weeks. Also I’m still yet to meet someone who enjoys the process of moving a house.
If you constantly switch context between organising your move and work you’ll most probably fail at both.
I’d suggest dividing your calendar if possible and create a clear split of time where you can focus on each of the challenges separately. Possibly doing both in a separate physical location I would be beneficial.
Moving is stressful and the general anxiety of such event can spill to other areas of life as well. I’d try to identify the core tasks that have to be done to move and figuring out which ones are stressing you out the most. Handle those first. Removing the biggest obstacles can help to ease your mind so you can focus on your work better.
Good luck!
- justforthisques 5y agoThank you! Using different spaces for different purposes is a good suggestion, I'll try to avoid searching for moving related stuff on my work computer so I don't fall into endless rabbit holes.
