I heard a former US Army guy saying in a podcast, even at home he's always dressed to be ready to walk out the door at any second, because it's a habit he developed in the Army. Which makes sense, the enemy doesn't wait for you to wait to put your socks and shoes on.
- alvarlagerlof 5y agoIt takes less than 5 seconds if you're good.
- SuoDuanDao 5y agoDepends on the type of shoes too... slip-ons are much less popular in North America, probably a self-reinforcing thing there.
- simonswords82 5y agoSorry, am I reading correctly that you can put both shoes and socks on in less than 5 seconds?! I need to see this...

- dugmartin 5y agoUnfortunately that is called "hypervigilance" and is one of the central features of PTSD.
- BossingAround 5y agoAh yes, the number of people who ended up dead because of being bare foot. That makes complete sense.
