I think messing with licenses just won't work, people want to choose libs that are uncomplicated and free to use and can be used to build commercial products without paying.
- rndhouse 5y agoCompanies also want maintained software libraries where critical vulnerabilities and bugs will be addressed. Code goes stale. Active maintenance has a price. And micropayments mean the price can be spread over thousands of companies. But I'm biased because I'm working on a solution along those lines!
- jopsen 5y agoAnd most open source projects that are just starting out want adoption. Which is why they wouldn't go with something like this.
