Can't say I've ever wanted to stop daylight savings. Never-ending afternoon evenings every day in summer, delightful!

But also in the Netherlands, there are many people who want to abolish it. In my view, they're only thinking of the weekends when the switch is made. At that time, it doesn't seem to make a huge difference, and the switch is annoying, it takes some days to get into the new rhythm. But ask them, at the start of summer you have X hours of sunlight -- what times during the day would you like them to fall? And the same question for the darkest months of winter. I wouldn't be surprised if it needed a switch of two whole timezones to make both answers true.
