Heheheh... all these comments just go to show that no one policy can be fair for everyone. :) Balsamiq have a policy that aims at fairness, is transparent (and yet open for discussion!) and has a better-than-average chance of appealing to their target audience - people who aren't driven by money but don't want to be taken advantage of. If you can't find a compromise that works for your situation - go work somewhere else.
