- hiptobecubic 5y agoBecause it's not obvious to consumers that they are locking themselves into the ecosystem. If printers were required to have a visible tag on them that said "I will only print using genuine $BRAND ink," it would be different. As it is, it's like finding out your car won't start if it doesn't detect Shell brand gasoline in it after you've already bought it.
