The first thing to do is install Signal on one or more devices and have them sync. When it is on your computer you don't loose your conversations if your phone breaks. But I agree : no easy backup in Signal is a major pain ! From the Electron based computer version of Signal you can use some js and backup conversations though. (No "restore" option though)
