oh wow. did we read the same article?
these criticisms sound odd to me. the whole section about OpenSea removing Moxie's NFT. and how he wrote that he wasn't out to complain about them, is not how i read it at all. this is so odd.
i recommend people read Moxie's article.
the comment about people not wanting to run their own servers resonated with me. and with many i suppose. i mean, that's what we have been doing for a while now. that's why the cloud is thriving. that's why we like managed services.
i would not have added "and never will" though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what i want is the author to elaborate on how to turn phones into servers. i want that.
- wccrawford 5y agoWith a very, very few exceptions, I think "people don't want to run their own servers and never will" is true. They don't want to run servers, but they will run a server if the only way to get what they want is to run a server. There are always a few people who want to run a server and it's not just a means to an end. But they are so incredibly few they aren't worth taking into consideration. Put another way: All else being equal, if you give someone a choice to run a server or not, they won't.
