Do you know how people sometimes say "If everybody stopped believing the dollar had value, it would stop having value, and you could paper your walls with it"?

Do you know how people sometimes say "If everybody stopped believing the dollar had value, it would stop having value, and you could paper your walls with it"? I don't know if people have stopped thinking the dollar has value, but I suspect people are beginning to realize it's all made up, and we're starting to feel the deep cynicism that comes from believing your world is a farce. I think postmodern thought has probably contributed to this, due to its deconstructive and subjective bent.
