This makes me think back to the mountain of criticism Andrew Cuomo got for moving COVID positive patients to nursing homes in the early days of the pandemic. Seems like an unfortunate but necessary step when hospitals are overwhelmed. Can’t say this seems like a terrible decision given the circumstances, nor was it when Cuomo made a similar call back in 2020z
- jdhn 5y agoCuomo's decision is what led to NY having a ridiculously high death count when compared to other states. I'd say that this is a terrible thing to ask unless they have proof that the omnicron variant doesn't cause a heightened risk of death among elderly people, even if they are triple vaxxed.

It’s easy to say this is terrible and I don’t think anyone would disagree with you, but you have to recognize the alternative. I’ve yet to see anyone who had a better plan that Cuomo should have followed back in 2020.
