In English we have the adage, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."
In Japan there is the adage, "The tall nail gets pounded down."
People in the US aren't declining the vaccine because they are told to. They are declining the vaccine because of misinformation and tribalism.

If the UK could do it without vaccine mandates (with the exception of medical professionals but that's understandable) why not the US? I am even more surprised about Germany and Austria? They are not exactly and anarchist hotbeds. They could have convinced population about vaccine effectiveness and safety without any mandates. It appears that they dropped the ball when getting proper information to the people and misinformation reached people instead.

I know this is anecdotal, but my experience has been that many people are waiting until long term testing is complete. Remember that the FDA Approval letter for Pfizer indicated that they would need until June 2025[1] to complete testing on the myocarditis and pericarditis upticks in the young males who have taken it. If the FDA says testing isn't complete on long term issues, why is it crazy that some people would rather wait until it is? Especially with all of the recent deaths of young healthy male athletes in 2021.[2] [1] https://www.fda.gov/media/151710/download https://www.fda.gov/media/151710/download [2] https://airtable.com/shrbaT4x8LG8EbvVG/tbl7xKsSUIOPAa7Mx https://airtable.com/shrbaT4x8LG8EbvVG/tbl7xKsSUIOPAa7Mx
