Would expect that stable would cost way more. They seem to be bumping the price the closer it gets to a stable version. Google shows articles quoting 5k on 2016 (was called something else?), 8k on 2018, 10k on 2020. This is pretty normal in software though I’d think. Early adopters that help test early stage alpha/beta software pay much less as they offer value to the developers. So if your confident that eventually fsd will be delivered might as well get it on a lower price now and not use it?
- clouddrover 5y agoTelsa has been lying about their full self-driving product for over 5 years now: https://www.tesla.com/blog/all-tesla-cars-being-produced-now-have-full-self-driving-hardware https://www.tesla.com/blog/all-tesla-cars-being-produced-now... But I suppose there are always more suckers to fleece.
- throwntoday 5y agoIsn't the idea here that you're paying substantially less than what they will charge for the final product to beta test it? I don't understand all the hate. How else were they supposed to bankroll something like this as aggressively as they had?
