Should we be surprised someone who perhaps retired in 2017 is computer savvy?
An 80 year old grandmother was 65 in 2007. She could be a retired tech company CEO.
- jpindar 5y agoSo many times here on HN I see "grandmas" used to mean "people who cannot use a computer at all except maybe to check Facebook". Somehow I never see anyone do this for any demographic category other than age and sex.
- cortesoft 5y agoYeah I was thinking the same thing... a lot of Linux was probably written by people who are almost 70 now...
- johnchristopher 5y agoIn my mind, being over 50 has stopped being an excuse to be computer illiterate while holding an office job in the last decade. They were 30 in 2000, 25 in 95 when you started working with computers. If in 2020 you still don't understand how to print a document or find your word files then you are. I don't know what you are but you better have a medical issue or something to justify still not getting file size and things like that.
