Netapp developer responds with racist epithets after receiving bug report
- orf 5y agoJesus…
- jsodw 5y agoWhy sign up to hacker one if you don’t want to receive bug reports? Also wouldn’t this be… religionism? :P
- strikelaserclaw 5y agonah, this is frequently directed against brown people, there are a bunch of coptic christians in Egypt where the original guy is from.
- PeterisP 5y agoWhat I'm seeing in that threat rather seems like the developer had not signed to hackerone and had not invited bugreports, but received an unsolicited request from the OP to join hackerone and probably pay them money for a beg-report. I.e. OP had linked a screenshot from hackerone which states that Netapp does not accept unsolicited bugreports.
- ia89289asm 5y agoIf it's real, it's pretty bad. But the only proof this guy has is that 1) he sent unsolicited bug reports and 2) got an email from a ProtonMail email address with an employee's name calling him a terrorist. Which seems more likely? A) The NetApp employee with his personal ProtonMail account went out of his way to email this guy racist things calling him a terrorist. B) This guy made it all up for fake internet points and/or sue the company.
