FYI your city’s travel immunization clinic (if it has one) might have rabies post-exposure prophylaxis shots. I know San Francisco’s (https://www.sfcdcp.org/aitc/ https://www.sfcdcp.org/aitc/) does because I got them after getting scratched by a stray cat in Sri Lanka… Also they weren’t cheap but definitely not $4000 per shot. Maybe a couple thousand total, I don’t recall exactly.
