The UFOs movement is feeling more and more like a gaslighting exercise. It starts out suggesting that the way to enlightenment is the socratic method, and then engages in unanswerable questions, innuendo, and other dirty tricks that always come back some form of "shouldn't we be investigating this?"
Then when the investigation happens, it's used as proof that the underlying event is real. Nevermind that the government says they lack the data to make conclusions about the most inconclusive cases to ever emerge.
The fact that the government investigated and can't explain everything is used as proof that UFOs are real.
Then there are the word games. I've used UFO above, and it makes sense in that context, but I've never met a UFO enthusiast who didn't use UFO and aliens interchangeably.
If you admit UFOs are real, then you are admitting Aliens visiting us are real is the way the stunted logic goes.
Even the bad news is used as good news. UFO implies an object flying. The new lingo, unexplained aerial phenomena, is more descriptive and accurate, but the enthusiasts claim this is an admission that aliens are real. "The government admits UAPs are real, it's the biggest step forwards ever. This is Huge!!"
The problem is that you can never disprove aliens are visiting us, you can only prove they ARE visiting us. And it only takes one thing, exposed by one person.
What would I take as proof? I think any alien design would probably be instantly recognisable. It would be like looking at a Salvador Dali painting, and understanding that the physics of that thing are so alien to us, and yet the physics of it make sense.
Like if I brought an iPhone to the year 1970.
Or took a Wright brothers airplane to the year 1700.
This idea gives rise to many LARPS like the materials "not of this world" that some people claim to have.
Or the claims of communication with extraterrestrial beings.
Yet nobody has thought to get a new mathematical conjecture from one of these beings? It wouldn't be hard to remember, even as a layperson. Energy equals mass squared is pretty simple. I'm sure many of our future discoveries will be equally simple, even if they are beyond reach today.
The burden of proof is on the Larpists. Never forget this. It's not a court of public opinion ("you are the minority now, the majority of Americans believe UFOs are real"), not a preponderance of evidence ("there is so much evidence you have to be crazy to think Aliens aren't real"), and not even true beyond a reasonable doubt works, ("The Nimitz is unexplainable, multiple radars and people had eyes on and it defies physics. It went 60 miles in the blink of an eye, radar doesn't lie. Therefore UFOs are real")
Any of these standards can be easily met with one single event where only selective data is known. Which means none of these scenarios can have any bearing on the truth.
Only clear definitive proof will suffice. Till then, have fun with the LARPs, but understand that UFOs are not becoming more real with more stories about them. That is a cultural phenomenon.
Aliens are becoming less real day by day by day as scientific knowledge advances, cameras improve, different spectrums are observable and recordable, and the long awaited proof fails to fruit.
Inevitably someone will ask what I think explains a lot of this, and the answer is the evolution of warfare. Defense is now impossible on the battlefield. The winner of kinetic wars will not have the best offense. It will have the best defence. In a world where explosives are no longer needed because Mass at speed is the best explosive ever, and drones can take out anyone, the best defense is camouflage and information warfare.
It's no surprise that Lou is a former intelligence officer, and so are a lot of the others claiming they are whistleblowers, but failing to bring the goods, and claiming to want to work within the system to bring about disclosure of alien entity's.
I'm mostly convinced that these UFO sightings are penetration and spoofing testing events.
If radar jamming was 1950-now, Radar and other instrument spoofing is the next generation outgrowth of that industry.
UFO's are the obvious cover.
The winner of the next kinetic war won't have the best offense, it will have the best spoofing capabilities to render the enemies weapons useless.
