You understand that for most of the people in the great migration, "quit their jobs" is shorthand for "escaped from indentured servitude as a sharecropper on the farm where their parents were born as human property", right?
- coldtea 5y agoWell, do you also understand that that was the only environment they knew, with their family and community around, and they had way less skills, education, etc. to make it wherever they ended (and many didn't make it) than an average person today. Compared to that leaving a modern job and - if things don't work - try to find another later is nothing...
