Ask HN: What's a reasonable price to pay for a 1GB index/day on a serverless DB?
- verdverm 5y agoWhat is a serverless db?
- Elof 5y agoNo instance size and pay for what you use. So you could have 10gb or 10tb and only pay scale you’re indexes up or down with out having to pay for an allocation of RAM
- verdverm 5y agoI typically get to pick how much cpu and ram I need for serverless functions. Those values will effect performance and SLAs for a database as well. I'd expect to have some control over that. The biggest issue is network latency and costs if it had to jump between clouds for every database call. My GCP managed postgres are pretty cheap compared to the other stuff.
