I got bitten by a dog when I was a 13 years old, but the owner refused to provide details about the dog.
I had post-exposure prophylaxis for rabies. Five sets of shots into my torso.
This was less than pleasant.
- AlbertCory 5y ago"21 shots in the stomach" used to be what they scared us kids with. A guy I knew recently got bitten by a dog and had to get the shots. He said it was five in the arm.
- WaitWaitWha 5y agoThis was... long, long, long time ago in a far far place.
- b112 5y agoWow. These days, details are given (eg, proof of dog having shots), or the dog is taken, killed, and brain examined for rabies. At least that's the way it is where live. And that doesn't even get into "if a dog bites, the owner can be criminally charged" side of things, and often is. Even mild cases of biting, may mean the animal is put down. Only exception is if the victim was engaged in a criminal act.
