This metric basically just tells you how liquid the currency market is. Look at forex markets for traditional currencies. USD/EUR trading is over $3B daily. Does that tell you anything about USD as a currency, beside there being liquid markets?

$3B is far less than the amount of USD used for purchasing goods and services each day.
