Finding dates depends on network effects whether it’s online or in person, so you’re going to want to be in a more populated area. I’m an old guy who has lived all over and date all over, then moved to a small town after I was married. When I spent time around the bay (20ish years ago), I thought it was a pretty good place to meet people, no worse than LA, Chicago, NY, Honolulu, Vegas, or whatever. Though I think you’ll find people into different things and with different beliefs in different places.
