Lufthansa to Operate 18,000 Empty Flights to Keep Landing Slots
- hourislate 5y agoCrazy, the amount of environmental damage flying these aircraft empty to maintain landing slots is criminal. Why not just pay to keep the landing slots and not fly.
- desktopninja 5y agoMy lucky guess is it'll be cheaper to have the planes in the air vs on the ground. IIRC every time a plane touches down its 10K$ and that rate for every X minutes it stays grounded. The driving force for environmental damage has always been questionable business practices.
