There’s been a lot of posts complaining about coding exercise interviews. I sympathize, they are certainly flawed. But I don’t see any sort of consensus around an alternative. The things that many other professional fields do—-a mixture of credentialist proxies and interviews that amount to little more than personality compatibility tests—-seem far worse.
