Yes - my current place has a very sane, practical approach which would work well for me. No purist algos stuff, no solving hard problems on the fly on a whiteboard with an audience. UK based, financial sector, FWIW. That said if I was looking to move, my confidence about other places being so sane would be low to medium, there seems to remain a lot of deterring approaches out there still.
