For me the issue with GR is the weight. Those packs are too heavy IMHO. If I'm travelling light I think I'd rather have something equivalent to an OMM Classic 32 runner's pack[1]. That design, originally from 1973, is a classic for a reason. Shaving a kilogram or so off the weight of an empty bag is definitely worth it. That's just useless weight you're going to have to lug about all day.
