2024 Chevy Silverado EV: 780 LB-FT, a Midgate and a Claimed 400-Mile Range
- scotuswroteus 5y agooh my god that looks like a fucking Chevy Colorado. Yuck. Looking forward to the prices for the used ones to keep on climbing after looking at this. They'll get this right eventually, but this ain't it.
- sho_hn 5y agoTesla is starting to feel pretty late to the party now, with Rivian, GMC/Hummer and Ford all shipping electric trucks before the Cybertruck materializes.
- 29812027 5y agoNot really. Where's the charging infra? Everyone else is patchwork of shitty alternatives.
- clouddrover 5y agoThe US has so much catching up to do on EVs. Europe is much further ahead. One of the things holding the US back is the continuing lack of a common charging standard. CCS Type 1 Combo is almost there as the standard. All other manufacturers have switched to CCS in the US (including Nissan). All that remains is for Tesla to switch. Tesla switched to CCS in Europe a long time ago: https://insideevs.com/news/343728/most-tesla-superchargers-now-retrofitted-with-ccs-plugs-in-europe-video/ https://insideevs.com/news/343728/most-tesla-superchargers-n... And Tesla has (finally) started to open their European stations to all makes: https://www.theverge.com/2021/11/1/22757159/tesla-supercharge-ev-pilot-netherlands https://www.theverge.com/2021/11/1/22757159/tesla-supercharg... Common infrastructure is everyone's interest. Instead of more dumb, brand exclusive, closed infrastructure what the US needs is for Tesla to join the rest of the industry.
- pacerwpg 5y agoI was surprised when they got rid of the Avalanche, but it's back!
- exabrial 5y agoPlease no, not a unibody "truck"
- numtel 5y agoOh, come on. The hood height is still tall enough to block the view of any small humans.
