I assume you have read the hint that the authors left in the introduction for people like you:
"Such a regime must only be followed under strict and qualified medical guidance to obviate any dangers, especially haemorrhagic bleeding, and of the therapy as a whole."
- JohnJamesRambo 5y agoWell yes I’m doing a very light version of the protocol, no industrial strength anticoagulants. :)
- lrem 5y agoSo likely you won't meet the "better than placebo" threshold.
- nick__m 5y agoA placebo is frequently better than nothing and sometimes better than the real thing. I can even work if you know that it's a placebo ! Also placebo are getting stronger https://drdavidhamilton.com/the-placebo-effect-is-getting-stronger/ https://drdavidhamilton.com/the-placebo-effect-is-getting-st... ;)
- ouid 5y agoMechanistically, placebo can only work on psychosomatic symptoms. There isn't any magic going on. If the problem is in your head, then thoughts can maybe help.
- dpark 5y agoYour head largely controls the rest of your body. If you take a placebo that you expect to make you angry, your levels of adrenaline will likely rise. There are all sorts of measurable, physiological changes that can be induced by placebo.
- sheinsheish 5y agoPlease reconsider after having a look on Joe Dispenza’s book. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18051504-you-are-the-placebo https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18051504-you-are-the-pla... At least consider the possibility that maybe (maybe = 10-50% chance?) there can be magic in our heads & bodies.

- baq 5y agoThe world you see, touch, hear, smell and taste exists only in your head.
- mmastrac 5y agoThe recent paper on brain memory in immune response suggests this is no longer common wisdom. We just don't know. Evolution twists a lot of random wires together.
- soperj 5y agoMy favourite drug to take for the placebo effect is water.
