I'm not convinced that inequality is freedom, or that equality prevents freedom. Can you explain what you mean by freedom? Imagine that a group of people, a nomadic tribe perhaps, wanted the freedom to live in a non-hierarchical society. If someone imposed inequality--that the best hunter/gatherer in the group should receive a "fair" share of resources--that would be restricting the freedom of the people, would it not?
