I feel like European countries handled school much better. Rapid tests 1-2 times a week for all students.
Meanwhile in the USA, private schools stayed open the whole time (with the exception of March-May 2020) while public schools in San Francisco were shut until January 2021.
- inciampati 5y agoThis is absolutely not uniform in Europe. The more gerontocratic and science confused the country, region, or simply it's current elected executive, the more likely that schools (even preschools!) were closed by legal order for much of last year. It has been a nightmare.
- Ntrails 5y agoI hold to my initial opinion that the price of closing any schools at all for > 1 week was too high and simply should never have happened. I state that in the certainty that more people would have died of covid overall had schools been left open.
