- mgkimsal 5y agoa few shops in town added 'extra fee' notices a few months in to the covid outbreak (may 2020?). "We are having to add a 50c surcharge per beef entree" "Each burger has a 50c surcharge" etc. Later this went to 50c charges for all meats (chicken or beef or whatever). In the short term, it was to avoid having to reprint all signage/menus/etc when they were unsure how long things would go on. I think in the restaurants in our town, they've just raised prices and don't advertise the 'surcharge' any longer.
