I graduated in 2008. I feel those who graduate during covid.
The good thing about 2008 is that we had the names of all the people that were to be held accountable. the bad news is that no one has been jailed and that we all started our career at the worst time possible in recent history.
Now is same. we definitely sacrified our youth mental health, jobs, starting a family dreams, starting salary, hopes, future retirement, cost of renting an apartment, never ever hopes of buying a place and confined them in small third-rate boomer-owned apartment so that old people don't die from covid. many more healthy young people will die from this than they could have died from covid.
it is our western society and leaders that made this choice for us because our olds own all the power (just look at trump and biden pelosi age).
and western leaders made this decision just like japan elderly people made the choice to go clean fukushima reactor so that their youth doesn't die from doing it.
I guess people need to make a choice. what kind of society do we wish to live in.

One of the most frustrating realizations as I've gotten older (I graduated during the great recession too) is that younger people don't vote while older people do. Most of what you listed could be fixed or at least vastly improved if younger demographics actually bothered to address issues that impact them, because older people certainly do. - Expensive housing could be addressed by younger voters pressing their local council to permit more units. Instead we have wealthy and older people pressing for the opposite. - Starter jobs/salary etc. could be helped if younger people pressed their politicians to update minimum wage/paid leave etc. Yet we don't. - Healthcare etc. could be universal, instead it's only universal for people of a certain age (read: the demographic that votes). I get that not all issues are solvable by young people, and pinning all their issues on them isn't productive, but there's so much that could be improved if they simply looked after themselves the way older people do.
