With an official readonly header to POST instead all middlewares and proxies would have automatic support and this can be adopted in months instead of years or decades...
- tsimionescu 5y agoWhy would that be easier to implement than a new method? It's literally just a string. Many non-standard request methods are already supported.
- glenjamin 5y agoBecause unknown headers are already passed through safely in existing implementations, whereas unknown methods are handled in a variety of different ways
