Copyright and patents need competing mechanisms which derive and attribute the value of an idea based on their use, as opposed to their availability.
Their current incantations incentivise conjuring artificial scarcity in order to fit the incumbent sociopathic and monotheistic economic religion of our time.
I see no reason alternative systems shouldn’t be invoked which incentivise realising the communal value from how far and often an idea is used. They could exist along side what currently exists, with competitive and cooperative relational dependencies established as needs arise.
