Most of my egress bandwidth is public. I would have to pay Direct Connect + egress of the data center, which can still be significant. Not to mention added complexity.
- electroly 5y agoYou can get 1G or 10G ports with an Internet carrier (Cogent, HE, etc.) for a fixed monthly fee, so the only variable egress fee would be from AWS. The fixed cost is nontrivial and it's definitely a ton of complexity though, which would have to be justified in variable cost savings.
