Student receives praise for bogus paper on how milk is a ‘colonizer’ of coffee
- bediger4000 5y agoThis is exactly the opposite of those stories where member of minority group X overcomes all odds, scores a perfect SAT, graduates from Harvard at age 16, and becomes CEO of a tech startup. In each of them, one person does something excessive (good or bad). We're supposed to gain different understandings from each of them, though. Since member of minority X overcame the implicit racism and arbitrary difficulties put in front of them by society, that every member of every minority could do the same, if they applied themselves. In the second case, that of this article, we're supposed to understand that any student could receive praise for any bogus article. These understandings both benefit the socio-economic status quo.
