- boppo1 5y agoAbolitionists and civil rights protestors had more clearly defined 'win' conditions. What is the end goal for 'woke extremists'? A person who was previously my friend could not articulate it to me. He said 'when white supremacy is gone' and then regularly leveled that label at every single thing you can think of, including Netflix, my parents, museums, and more. I have heard that "discomfort is part of the process" but also that "there's always more work to do." My friend and I had "difficult conversations" about "doing the hard work" and I kept agreeing with him against my own beliefs and letting him go on about this stuff until one day he cut me out of his life anyway for not being woke enough. I am sincerely at a loss for understanding.
- ILMostro7 5y agoYup, cause Civil Rights problem was solved with a law, and black people got exactly what they wanted. Before you start dissecting the argument piecemeal, just pointing out that it's difficult to tell arrogance from ignorance these days no matter what the issue is and on what side one stands. Simply dig in and hold on tight! ;). But what do I know, merely another down-vote in an online echo chamber disguised as Zeitgeist and further eroding critical thinking.
