(Hello California) This is why the building of new homes should _not_ be a matter of vote. Just like deciding your career or in which companies to invest. The overall public should _not_ get a say in what private contractors build, unless in absolutely extreme cases such as when pollution is involved (noise/air..). Just like McDonald's does not get a say in whether a new Burger King should open, homeowners should not get a say in whether new housing should be built.
